Civitai Gallery Explorer

Overview

I built Civitai Gallery Explorer, a ComfyUI custom node pack that lets you browse the Civitai image gallery inside a node. Filter and scroll through posts, save favorites on disk, and send the selected prompts, preview image, and LoRA metadata into the rest of the graph.

Challenge

Jumping between the Civitai website and ComfyUI breaks the creative loop. I wanted artists to search, pick a post, and wire prompts and LoRAs into their graph without leaving ComfyUI, with downloads that stay safe on disk.

What I shipped

• An infinite-scroll gallery with masonry, grid, and list layouts
• Filters for username, base model, tag, sort, period, NSFW level, and page size, plus toggles for video-only, prompt-only, unique prompts, and favorites
• Click-to-fill outputs for positive prompt, negative prompt, preview image, and LoRA metadata
• A Civitai LoRA Loader that resolves names, version ids, and hashes, with optional auto-download, resume, and retries
• Local favorites stored next to the node, plus install via ComfyUI Manager or the Comfy Registry
• Hardening with request timeouts and size limits, public-URL checks, LoRA downloads that stay inside the LoRA folder, atomic favorites, registry metadata, and CI

Result

The pack is published on the Comfy Registry as civitai-gallery-explorer with about 1.4K downloads. Artists can install it, browse Civitai inside ComfyUI, and feed selected posts straight into their workflows.
